Sunflower -- After

So, this is my sunflower plant after all the rain and wind we had in my area lately.  It was taller than in the "before" pic, and actually had the flower part coming in, but the wind blew it over and broke it at the base.

Between how I feel about losing this sunflower and the fits of sneezing I tend to get this time of year, I can't help but wonder if I'm not actually Edison from the Great Space Coaster.
